SUMMARY
Atypical carcinoid tumours (AC) of the lung are rare neuro-endocrine neoplasms (NENs). Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) has emerged as a pivotal treatment for advanced NENs, that can also be used for bronchial NENs. It makes use of the overexpression of somatostatin receptors (SSTR) to deliver targeted radiation. This report highlights a case of pneumonitis following PRRT in a patient with metastatic AC, underscoring its distinction from radiation pneumonitis (RP).
